World Environment Day
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on 5 June in more than 100 countries. The theme for World Environment Day 2009 is 'Your Planet Needs You-Unite to Combat Climate Change'. WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. Contribution towards the betterment of world's environment is every individual's responsibility, no matter how small.
On this day, activities were organized to renew our commitments to protect
and develop the environment. Activities such as Tree planting, clean-up
campaigns and the use of colorful projections through banners all around
PRL were held to commemorate the World Environment day.
On this day, a special tree plantation ceremony was held in the PRL plant
premises. Managing Director & CEO, Ijaz Ali Khan honored the event by
planting a Conocarpus sapling.
